CDI Mercury RPM Rev Limiters Replacement

“A rev. limiter is a device fitted to an internal combustion engine to restrict its maximum rotational speed. This is usually carried out to prevent damage to the engine, however Rev Limiters are fitted to prevent an engine reaching the point at which it develops maximum power. Limiters can be used in conjunction with a shift light, which illuminates when the desired RPM is reached, indicating to the driver that a gear change is required.Limiters prevent damage to an engine by interrupting the power that is distributed to the spark plugs; this prevents the engine from operating above a pre-determined RPM level known as redline. Rev Limiters are used as a means of increasing the fuel efficiency of commercial motor vehicles. Limiters can be individually adjusted by fleet owners to meet the performance requirements of many different driving conditions.” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rev_limiter

And so it is very clear that these Rev Limiters is essential to our boat since it not only boost the boat performance, Rev Limiters also increase the fuel efficiency of the boat. That is why it is important to do the checking up of our Limiters so that we can assure that it is working properly. With this, we would like to present our CDI Mercury RPM Rev Limiters Replacement that is found and available at www.magemarinestore.com

Watercraft Starter

Starter is a simple device that uses torque multiplication to turn over the much stronger main engine. On most watercraft, except the very small bore units, the starter driving gear engages with a reduction gear cluster that allows the relatively weak starter to turn the engine over fast enough for it to run under its’ own power.

If you are experiencing a starting problem be sure to check the battery including the cables if it is firmly in place with no signs of corrosion. Also, do not forget the ground cable! Make sure that corrosion and electrolysis have not disrupted the electrical path so severely so that it will never turn over!

Another common problem in many watercraft starter is that it is easily and inexpensively remedied even by the home mechanic. The brushes that are inside the starter and that conduct current are easily broken by vibration and age. The replacement brush sets or even full brush plates are just a fraction of the cost of a new starter and easy to install. Make sure to check all these before deciding to replace your watercraft starter. To get new watercraft starter, check on our site http://www.magemarinestore.com to know the available watercraft starter.

OMC Ignition Sensor

According to Wikipedia, ignition system is a system for igniting a fuel-air mixture. Ignition systems are well known in the field of internal combustion engines such as those used in petrol (gasoline) engines used to power the majority of motor vehicles, but they are also used in many other applications such as in oil-fired and gas-fired boilers, rocket engines, etc. It is important therefore that every now and then, we need to check our ignition system as well as the ignition sensor in order to assess whether the ignition system is working well or not.

Good to know that in www.magemarinestore.com we can offer a huge variety of OMC Ignition Sensor that is designed specifically for OMC Johnson Evinrude. The manufacturer of this Ignition sensor is non other than CDI Electronics who is leading in providing boat parts item. Take a closer look on our Ignition Sensor below.

Why Battery isolator is important to your Boat Battery?

We want to make sure that anything we buy, we can always maximize its worth. This is the reason why we need to be cautious when it comes to buying something. Boat battery for example must be taken care of after purchasing but we must be aware on what are the things we need to know what things to consider in buying a boat battery. Here’s our tip for you boaters. When choosing a battery you must:

1. Determining the Ampere Hour Draw of Your Boat. To determine the ampere you need to know what electrical equipment you have and what the 12-volt amp draw is. For example 12 volt item with 500 gph can draw 2.0 amp, while 1000 gph can draw 2.9 amp.

2. Understanding Battery Ratings. These ratings are designed to help you select the proper battery for your application. For example Ampere Hour Rating (Reference Rating) is the number of amps which a battery can distribute for a 20-hour period. The bigger the ampere hour rating, the more power the battery can deliver over time. Marine Cranking Amps (MCA) is the number of amps a battery can supply at 32 0 cell. Reserve Capacity (RC) is the time, in minutes, for which a battery will deliver 25 amperes at 800 Now that you understand how to select the right boat battery, it is significant as well to get the best battery isolator. Why? Because this battery isolator has the capability to simultaneously charge more than one battery from a single power source (e.g., an alternator) without connecting the battery terminals together in parallel. This is helpful because a weak or dead battery will drain the charge from a strong battery if both are connected directly together. To prevent this happening, it is wise to get battery isolator. For battery isolator that will last, check this ARCO Battery Isolator BI- 0702-4 .F for 30 sec, and preserve at least a voltage of 1.2 volts per F. This represents the time, which the battery will last to operate.
